Data collection and Calibration
For setting up the suit for data collection, follow the instructions on the official site or visit Movella-Youtube for detailed video descriptions
System Requirements
Windows 10 (64 bit) MVN 2023.0 and older
Windows 11 (64 bit) MVN 2023.2 and up
Quad core processor or higher (2.7
GHz or faster) supporting AVX2 instruction set

-
Ethernet, support for jumbo frames (9014 Bytes)
USB 2.0 and above
Dedicated channel for headphone and microphone jack for the use of Timecode
Trouble shooting while setting up the Router
If the suit is not recognized by the system software, aka when you start a session on the MVN software, the spheres are not green,
Connect the link body pack to your PC using a micro USB cable.
In any search engine, search for 172.16.0.0. This will direct you towards the web interface for the link body pack
Check the IP address of the Link pack
If it does not reflect the IP address of the home network, connect and reconnect under the wireless plan settings.
NOTE: You might have to connect and reconnect many times before you get the desired IP address.
Motion Tracker Calibration Guide
Calibration is crucial for initializing the orientation of Motion Trackers and ensuring magnetic immunity. A proper calibration significantly enhances the quality of motion capture data.
Recommended Calibration Routine: Npose + Move
The Npose + Move routine is highly recommended for its ease and effectiveness. Here's how to perform it:
Initiate Calibration: Choose the system to calibrate and click 'Calibrate'.
Settings: Select 'I help someone to calibrate' and choose the 'N-pose' method.
Performing Npose: Have the subject assume the Npose, standing upright with arms relaxed at their sides, thumbs forward.
Movement Phase: After holding the Npose, the subject should move around for 15 seconds, avoiding rapid movements.
Processing: The system will process the calibration; the subject can relax but should avoid sudden movements.
Finalizing: The subject stands still briefly, allowing the system to apply the calibration.
Understanding Calibration Results
After processing, the system will indicate the calibration quality, ranging from 'Good' to 'Poor'. Aim for at least an 'Acceptable' result. If the outcome is less than 'Good', consult the advice provided to improve the calibration.
Calibrating Yourself
For solo calibration, follow the hands-off procedure with audio instructions to guide you through the steps.
Post-Calibration Steps
- Walk Around: Spend about 5 seconds walking to warm up the system before starting your recording.
- Save/Load Calibration: Save your calibration data to avoid re-calibrating in case of a system reboot.
