This tutorial will guide you through setting up and using the University of Twente's private Resonite universe and group for virtual reality projects and collaboration. It covers the necessary steps to access and use the universe, as well as how to request permissions. The UT's private Resonite universe currently contains several demo's and storage space for UT related Resonite projects. You will need to use the UT Resonite universe if you want to access the UT VR Demos.

Before proceeding with the setup ensure you are familiar Resonite in either VR or Desktop mode.

  • Regular installation of Resonite on Steam using a Resonite ready device
  • A UT connected account is used for Resonite - This Tutorial
  • Obtain the required Config.json file from members of the Ilab team (Click to request access in the works)

Accessing the University of Twente Resonite Universe

  • The usage of the UT universe first revolves around the config.json file, this configuration file instructs Resonite to load into the University of Twente's designated universe. Place the provided Config.json file in the same directory as the Resonite executable (Resonite.exe).
  • Run Resonite as you normally would after installing it.
  • You can verify that you're in the correct universe by checking the log file for the line “UniverseID: xxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxx” or by observing that the session list is devoid of “Regular Universe” sessions.

If you need to switch between universes, use the command-line arguments described in the Resonite Wiki, creating separate config files for each universe.
